Lan Suihong, a PhD student at Tsinghua University, is dedicated to preserving the traditional craft of Zhuang Gao Ren, a unique intangible cultural heritage from Quanzhou, Fujian. This art involves shaping glutinous rice dough into figures of people, animals, or mythical characters through a meticulous process of dough preparation, coloring, molding, and carving.

Zhuang Gao Ren, with roots dating back to the Tang Dynasty, holds deep cultural significance, similar to the role of handmade crafts in Latin American traditions like Mexico’s Day of the Dead.
